Meyer Family Vineyards McLean Creek Vineyard
Pinot Noir, 2011
Canada
Okanagan Valley 75cl
Small production, high end Canadian Pinot Noir.
Showing some age colour wise. All round it looks and tastes 2-3 years older than it is.
Some classic gamey, farmyard characters on the nose with ripe varietal fruit, red berry and spice with a touch of oak.
It's a wine that grows on you, quite elegant in style, raspberry fruit, good acidity, oak and spice too, some fruit sweetness. It's a good wine but its asking price is £30-£35 and for me it does no quite deliver, very good wine but given the competition around the world it does not quite stack up. It's a very good wine for dinking over the next 2-3 years.
