Calera 'Mt.Harlan Cuvée'Pinot Noir, 2004USA California Red Mt.Harlan 75cl This is a new more affoprdable wine from the famous Calera winery. This is deliberately made to be enjoyed reasonably young. Made up with 62% Pinot from Mt Harlan vineyard- original vines, 28% from Mt Harlan younger vines and then small amounts from other single vineyards, Mills, Jensen and Reed. Attractive raspberry and plum on the nose with some nice oak and a slightly herbaceous character. Medium bodied it has lovely cherry and raspberry fruit with ripe tannins and nicely integrated oak Again a touch of herb too. It has quite a silky feel and is indeed drinking well. At around £20 it's not cheap but is still worth a go. Published: 5 November 2007 , Author: Noel
