La Comarcal is a new small project from a couple of friends, Javi Revert (Celler del Roure) and Víctor Marqués (Casa Lo Alto and ex-Celler del Roure). This is a Garnacha 70% and Syrah 30% blend from vines 700 metres above sea level. It's a lovely fresh style. Bright berry fruit with some spice and a touch of dried herb/green pepper and a little plain chocolate on the finish. Lots of energy to the wine with good acidity. For drinking over the next couple of years. was delicious with some Galician beef and Wagyu beef burgers! And tried again more recently and worked well with a variety of Thai/Burmese dishes.
