Dürkheimer Hochbenn Riesling is a new project we started in 2012, the grapes come from 30 years old vines. The must is fermented wild in 500 litre oak barrels and aged for 12 month inside of the barrel. We bought new barrels in 2012, which means you can taste the influence of the young oak. The goal is to use old 500l barrels which don't affect the varietal character anymore but secure a good wild fermentation. This special release shows Riesling with an impact by oak.
