Framingham Sauvignon Blanc
Framingham are making some really good wines, that are refreshingly just that little bit different. From various vineyards mostly in the Wairau Valley. Some partial fermentation on skins, a short time in acacia and oak barrels too, all adds to make a wine far more interesting than your average Marlborough Savvy! Grapefruit and elderflower on the nose, hints of blackcurrant too. Fresh and zesty but with a lovely textural almost creamy mid-palate, herbaceous and crisp at first, then quite rich, with some tropical fruit on the finish and some zesty characters. Of its type it's very good with some complexity.
