Domaine Montesquiou L'Enclos Rouge Vin de France
Produced from vines planted in 1956 with Tannat, Cabernet Franc and Manseng Noir. This wine is a field blend.
Maceration at low temperature for 72 hours allows the colour and tannins to be extracted gently .Aging in stainless steel vats until spring. From the Jurancon region but with no appelation for reds its a Vin de France.
I visited the winery in late May and loved all the wines, this was served with lunch and was a real surprise.
This wine is a lovely crunchy fresh red. Berry fruits with goodv acidity and ripe tannins. Perfect with charcuterie, cheeses, paté etc. Best served cool.
