Bodegas Atalaya was founded in 2007 by the Gil Family of Jumilla. The prominent grape variety in Almansa is Garnacha Tintorera –also known as Alicante Bouschet- along with Monastrell. Laya is 70% Garnacha Tintorera and 30% Monastrell planted around 700-1,000 metres - 3,280 feet - above sea level and aged for 4 months in French oak Alaya is a powerful, thick wine with muscular tannins and tasty fruits, which offers blackberry, redcurrant, liquorice and vanilla flavours.
