Au Bon Climat 'Knox Alexander' Pinot Noir
Knox Alexander could be described as the defining example of Au Bon Climat’s wonderful terroir. It is an estate selection of the very best parcels from the 58 acres of Pinot Noir that Jim Clendenen had planted at the property since 1994.
Sweet strawberries and red cherries dominate the nose, mixed with a touch of vanilla and spice.
"The 2017 Pinot Noir Knox Alexander is a bold, powerful, savory wine. Dried cherry, game, licorice, tobacco and spice are front and center. This is an especially wild, spicy Pinot. The tannins are a bit grainy today. It will be interesting to see how things develop here. Gamy, earthy undertones linger. The Knox Alexander is mostly Bien Nacido with some Le Bon Climat.
