Noel Young's Wine Club

I'm delighted to announce the launch of my new Wine Club. This is something I have been thinking about for a while now as I speak to many people when doing tastings further afield about how they subscribe to one of the more well-known wine clubs and are left somewhat nonplussed by the contents.......

The Churchill Selection

This case contains 6 different wines, 3 whites and three reds, if you go for the 12 bottle option 2 bottles of each. Full of really exciting and totally delicious wines, many are brand new releases.
We have a delicious wine from Campania in Italy made with three local grape varieties, Orion wines’ fresh and zesty Triplica 2011, a lovely South African Sauvignon Blanc from a small producer in the cool Walker Bay region Barton Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc 2011, and a superb newly released wine from the Limari Valley in Chile, Tabali Viognier 2012, lots of typical perfume with crisp fruit on the palate.

The reds are perfect for the cooler months. A modern styled wine from Italy, E.Solo Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2011, berry fruits and creamy oak. A brand new release from the Southern Rhone in France, Camille Cayran Cotes du Rhone ‘L’Impatiente’ 2011 full of spicy, brambly fruit. Lastly from the Douro region in Portugal, the award winning Quinta do Crasto Tinto 2010, a full juicy red, made from the same grapes used to make port.

A really tempting selection.

The Churchill Selection 12 Bottle Case (Monthly)

It's a fresher crisper style of Viognier. Classic honeysuckle, apricot and white peach on the nose. It's varietal but fresh, not at all fat, tangy white peach and apricot with limey acidity. It has some spice too, a lovely fresh style, all the fruit characters of Viognier but almost Sauvignon like crispness and acidity.

The King's Selection

As with our other cases this comprises 6 wines, 3 white and 3 red, 2 of each for the 12 bottle case. This is our top offering and features some truly amazing wines, many of limited quantity and all drinking superbly, real complexity on show. The white wines contain the following in this opening offering, the stunning Jean-Paul Balland Sancerre Grande Cuvée 2010, a Sauvignon Blanc from very old vines aged in oak, it has real depth and complexity. Pieropan Soave Classico ‘La Rocca’ 2009, from Italy- winner of the International Wine Challenge 2012 Soave Trophy and Italian White Trophy. It’s not like Soave you would know really low yields and aging in oak give this lovely richness, weight and complexity. Lastly a stunning white Burgundy, Vincent Dureuil-Janthial Rully 1er Cru ‘Les Raclots’ 2009, this is a full flavoured wine with stone fruits and nutty oak, really complex and long and drinking really well.

Our top selection reds feature the single vineyard Ballochdale Estate Pinot Noir 2010, from
Marlborough in New Zealand, garnering some great press this hand crafted Pinot is full of black cherry and berry fruit with nicely judged oak. Chante Cigale Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2009 is a classic from the Rhone Valley in France, from a great vintage, it’s full of dense berry fruits and spice, full flavoured and rich. Lastly the 95 point rated Magpie Estate ‘The Election’ Shiraz 2009, from the Barossa Valley in Australia and blended by Noel himself. Full of opulent dark berry fruits with spice, pepper and oak, it’s long and really very special.
