Southern Italian Red Blend Trophy, International Wine Challenge 2012.
A rich and opulent blend of 30% Montepulciano,
30% Primitivo, 30% Sangiovese, 10% Negroamaro.
Fermentation took place in new oak barriques, of which 60% were American and the remainder French. The wine remained in oak for 13 months. The varieties are aged separately before blending to create a rich and powerful, yet eminently drinkable wine
Deep red in colour, with garnet tones. Intense aromas of cherries, prunes, ripe blackcurrant, tobacco and a final toasted note. This wine is full-bodied, soft and rich in tannin with a persistent, long finish showing spicy notes of vanilla and chocolate.
