Decanter World Wine Awards Chilean Sauvignon Blanc Under £10 Trophy. (Sorry it's not under £10...)
A Trophy winner at the Decanter World Wine Awards this year (2012), this is a very interesting Sauvignon Blanc, and quite a departure, thankfully, from the tropical fruit-packed New Zealand style. This possesses plenty of grapefruit and green grass/herbaceous characters, is quite savoury and has plenty of length and a definitely more pronounced herbal/fresh pea note at the finish - I really like it. Far more food-friendly (though not with what I had as that was atrocious) than the more overt, pungent styles. A more absorbing drink if you like.
