La Bascula 'The Charge' Rioja

Quite deep in colour this is a modern styled Rioja, made by an English MW and a South African winemaker.
Dense black and red berry fruits with some toasty oak and roasted meats. Bright with lovely sweet berry fruits with vanillan oak and a classic meatiness. The tannins are ripe and this is really quite delicious, still classic Rioja, but also quite opulent and modern- really very good and well priced.
