We are big fans of the Glen Carlou wines, this new Cabernet is a touch bigger than the excellent 2009.
Aged in French oak for 15 months. Morello cherry, cassis, almond, spice and a touch of damson and liquorice on the nose.
It's a big, ripe juicy style with morello and black cherry, plum, cassis and almond on the palate and without food shows just a touch of alcohol heat.
With high quality medium rare burgers it was great, and it does have really lovely pure fruit.
Definitely best with food, has no South African smoke/meat/iodine at all. Good value.
