West Istria, Croatia 75cl

Not tried many Croatian wines but keep hearing good things. This comes from the Kozlovic winery in West Istria and is made with the regional speciality Malvasia (Malvazija)
Attractive nose -quite flowery and grapey with hints of spice and apricot. It's crisp and fresh with good weight, again quite flowery and grapey with some stone fruits- apricot in particular and gentle spice. It finishes with spice, a touch of minerality and good acidity and is a really attractive fresh wine. Really tangy and zesty and quite delicious, makes a good aperitif but would be good with salads, simple fish dishes and may even cope with mildly spiced foods.
