This great value red comes from Araldica's Il Cascione property. A Barbera d'Alba aged in French oak barriques for 12 months.
Deep cherry and plum with spice and hints of meat, spice and oak.
It's medium bodied with lovely ripe berry and cherry fruit, quite dense and meaty with the fruit sweetness following through with spice and oak on a long complex finish. It's a fabulous bargain, and was delicious with a homemade lasagne. Drinking beautifully now, but no hurry, ripe tannins and good acidity too.
