Monte Schiavo 'Pallio di San Floriano' Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi
A late harvested Verdicchio from their Fossato vineyard. Higher altitude vineyards on mainly clay soil, the wine spends 5 months on lees before bottling. Was awarded the prestigious 'Tre Biccheri' award in the latest guide, and must be the cheapest Tre Biccheri winner. Honey, citrus, almond, and a touch of herb on the nose. It's full bodied with lots of extract, spicy pear and herb with citrus and a minerally finish. Lots of weight and complexity, it's tangy and really tasty and a fabulous value.
