Filipa Pato 'Bossa' Branco Vinhos Doidos
A side project from the talented Filipa Pato. This is actually marketed under the Vinhos Doidos name which apparently means crazy, Bossa the name of the wine is named after the brazilian dance. I tried it with Filipa in March and was most impressed. It's a blend of two local varieties Bical and Maria Gomes. Made in a simple way to emphasise it's freshness and immediate appeal. Quite floral and grapey on a perfumed nose. It's grapey and peachy on the palate too, again floral with some spice. It's really tangy, fresh and attractive and great summer drinking, characterful and appealing, the spice on the finish also making it a good food wine. Drink over the next 12 months. Another very appealing white from Portugal more famed for it's red wines.
