Made by the excellent Waterkloof winery. They make 3 different styles of Sauvignon and at different price points. This is the middle price wise. Really pungent grassy nose. Herbaceous with pea, asparagus and citrus fruit. It's zesty and crisp on the palate. It's got a lively character but also real depth and weight. Honeyed with citrus and lots of grassy tones,hints of peach and nectarine too. There is a lovely underlying minerality. It's got length and balance and is a superb Sauvignon. Served with a fairly simple piece of fresh grilled meaty fish and this would be delicious, but could work with a myriad of other dishes up to a not too hot Thai Green curry. Whatever it's superb.
