Domaine de Mourchon Cotes du Rhone Villages Seguret 'Grande Reserve'
France Rhone Red
A spectacular wine from what is a very succesful vintage in the Southern Rhone. This is the first wine i have ever tasted from this Domaine. Old vine Grenache with a good slug of Syrah make up the blend. It's a dark deep wine with a rich nose of black fruits, chocolate and spice. Quite meaty with a touch of oak too. It's a big savoury wine with dense meaty fruit and chocolate. Good tannins and pepper on a long rich finish. it's young but seriously impressive. It has good acidity as well. it's very young and needs time to shed it's tannin however it is loaded with fruit and looks a really good bet for cellaring. I would opt for drinking 2008-2013.
