Sample of the new 2004; previous Isabel Chardonnay's have never really wowed me, but here is the exception. A gorgeous nose of ripe, honeyed fruits, bacon fat, and toasty new oak are immediately evident on the nose; the palate is not complete yet, but with a little more time in the bottle will be excellent. Some nutty characters coupled with stone fruits, a hint of caramel, toasty oak and excellent acidity are the prelude to the finished article, not too far in the future - their best Chardonnay to date for me.
