Pertaringa 'Over The Top'

Pertaringa are making some great wines at a really fair price. They have fabulous vineyards and one of South Australia's hottest winemakers Ben Riggs at the helm. This is their top Shiraz. 14.5% aged in new French and American oak. Powerful black cherry fruit, with plum and chocolatey new oak. It's big yet full of juicy sweet fruits, a touch of herb, spice and new oak. Thick and rich and just ever so slightly medicinal. It is however it's dense pure berry and cherry fruit that is to the fore with licorice and ripe tannins on the finish. The oak is nicely judged. It is sure to age well especially if it can lose that slight medicinal edge.
