Bodegas Mano A Mano
Tempranillo, 2003
Spain Red
La Mancha 75cl
This is another venture part owned by Jorge Ordonez the famed US importer. This is the first release. It comes from 40 year old vineyards that are extrerely low yielding. The wine is aged for 6 months in Frencj oak. It's a really drinkable style that is not at all over the top. Warm berry and plum fruit on the nose with some oak too. Medium bodied it has lovely ripe juicy fruits, with a warm plum, damson, and black cherry chracter. Some nice creamy oak helps round the wine out. It has decent acidity and tannin nad is really quite classy. At around £8 it is not over the top but it comes from La Mancha with £5 presentation that is quite eye catching but belies the wine inside the bottle. However the wine is really very good and really well balanced.
