Jeanneret 'Denis'
Shiraz, 2002
Australia Red
Clare Valley 75cl
This is Jeanneret's top cuvee on made in the best vintages. Named after Denis Jeanneret the founder of the winery and late father of Ben. Coming from 138 year old Shiraz vines and aged in French oak for 20 months. This has had a host of 5* reviews. Deep in colour. Deep dark red and black fruits on the nose. Plum, black cherry, oak and some typical regional mint. It wears it's 15% remarkably well. It's youthful and juicy with red and black cherry to the fore. It's a brooding concentrated wine with lovely texture, creamy integrated oak and good acidity. It just needs time and then preferably rare red meat. Long and impressive. Retains a real elegance despite it's size.
