The 2001 Cabernet from Majella is classy stuff so it's no surprise to see this top wine from Majella on form. 2001 was a great Coonawarra vintage. Deep in colour with lovely sweet sexy fruit on the nose. Cassis, chocolate, plum and mocha. Beautifully balanced on the palate, with sweet cassis and plum fruits, cedar and spice. Oak provides a creamy overlay whilst being well integrated. Tannins are ripe and this wine shows obvious potential. However it is opulent enough, albeit in an elegant way to enjoy now. Seriously impressive wine with a long fruit, oak and spice finish. Sadly very limited.
