DFJ Vinhos is the sister company of a UK wine shipper and is making some exciting modern styled Portugese reds from mostly indigenous varities, and witn great success. This is a far cry from the leathery dry wines of old. Plum and cherry on the nose-some vanillan oak too. Touch of herb too. Dense on the palate with crunchy plum/prune fruit. Juicy and attractive with lots of ripe fruit and balanced oak on the finish. Tannis are soft making this a fairly upfront and attractive red. Would be around £9.29 and worth looking out for.
