Deerfield Ranch
Cabernet Sauvignon, 2001
Not Specified
California, Sonoma County 75cl
A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc. Another new release from Deerfield Ranch. Coming from 3 vineyards and aged in French and American oak for 28 months. Ripe cassis and cedar on quite a perfumed nose. Hints of black cherry, plum and vanilla too. A mid-weight Cabernet and a relief from all those over-extracted styles we often see from California. This has a core of ripe cassis and morello cherry. Juicy and vibrant with beautifully integrated oak. It is classic understated yet classy deerfield winemaking. Nothing is forced and it has good texture and palate weight. It's still young with some ripe tannins and will drink well now until the turn of the century. Wonderfully drinkable with good complexity. An elegant very enjoyable style of Californian Cabernet!
