Annie's Lane
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, 1999
Not Specified
Australia, Clare Valley, Barossa Valley 75cl
Annie's Lane are part of the huge Beringer Blass company. This 1999 was a dual region blend. Showing some aged gamey characters, with dense damson, spice and a touch of plain chocolate. It has good aged warm fruits, still sweet but getting a little gamey, with soft tannins, spice and some oak. A good wine that has aged well and is now at it's peak. Not a blockbuster it is quite refined and medium-bodied. It has some good acidity on the finish which keeps it fresh. At £8.99 it represents value and could well appeal to both the more traditional palate as well as the new world wine lover. Available now as of 03/04
