Mont'Albano
Pinot Grigio, 2003
Italy White
Italy/Friuli 75cl
This organic Pinot Grigio was definately of high class. The slightly dumb nose (not surprising for Italian) consisted of pear and citrus with a little cream and grass; the palate however was truly fine, quite rich and broad and nutty, with slightly spicy undertones. There was far more body and texture than normally found in Pinot Grigio, though this is from the Friuli, really the best region for the grape. An excellent accompaniment to fish, white, in particular. 89pts
