Kim Crawford
Unoaked Chardonnay, 2003
Not Specified
New Zealand, Marlborough 75cl
Always one of my favourite Kim Crawford wines, this new 2003 is one of the best yet. Unoaked Chadonnay can be dullness personified, however Kim allows the wine to undergo full malolactic fermentation and this adds real depth and some texture, so often lacking in this type of wine. Crisp, fresh, citrus, nectarine and honey on the nose. The palate is crisp with again pristine citrus fruit to the fore, it however has a creamy rich mid-palate from the malolactic fermentation. This gives the wine real depth. It is long and almost creamy on the finish yet still has lovely fresh citrus and nectarine. Delicious! £8.99
