Bruno Paillard 'Premier Cuvee'
Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, NV
Not Specified
France, Champagne 75cl
Bruno Paillard's current range is very consistent. This is a producer who makes a lighter fresher more elegant style of Champagne. He also always releases Champagne with the month and year of degorgement which is to be applauded. The Rose is delightful with lovely fresh red fruits. Clean and refreshing. The Chardonnay iBlanc de blancs is perhaps the weakest of the current line-up, though i have always enjoyed this wine-could be a phase. The vintage 1995 is rich, quite tight yet complex-by far the weightiest of the range. This is his regular NV. Desgorged July 2003. It is a classic fresh, elegant style with lovely fruit. It has a fine mousse, and is neither to dry or acidic. A lovely drinking style. Not overlly rich, it has a lovely balance. c£22 and well worth it.
