Another of an increasing Rioja style; trying to marry tradition with some modern ideas also . Although a Reserva style the wine is only aged in French oak for 1 year then in the bottle for a further 2 years. Obviously been on the market for a while too!
An appealing fig and fruit cake nose with a little cinnamon as well . The palate like many Rioja is just on the heavier side of medium bodied with plenty of stewed fruit character again the fig and some dried apricot . Way better with a little air to open the wine up ( showed better on day 2 ) and a good food wine with meditteranean foods . Expected retail £10
