Burge Family Winemakers 'G3'
Grenache-Shiraz-Mourvedre, 2002
Australia Red
Australia, Barossa Valley 75cl
A special cuvee to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Burge Family Winemakers. Rick decided to make a blend-the best he could in 2002 from all the barrels he had. And this is the result (it means no Garnacha or Draycott Shiraz). A blend of Grenache 52% from the Garnacha vineyard planted c1925 and 42% Shiraz from the Darycott block and 6% Mourvedre. Deep in colour. It has a hugely ripe nose of meat, black cherry, plum, raisin and oak. The palate is hugely expressive and big! It wears it's 15.5% very well. It is massively rich with plum, prune, meat and creamy oak. Spicy too with ripe taninns. A huge yet balanced wine with a great future. An absolutely stunning and fitting drop!!...
