Georg Breuer Rudesheim Berg Rottland
Riesling, 2001
Not Specified
Germany, Rheingau 75cl
This is a fabulous wine from the fabled 2001 vintage. Coming from the Berg Rottland district in the steep slopes of Rudesheim. It is one of Breuer's 'premier cru' wines. Apricot, peach, honey, lime and minerals on an attractive open nose. The palate is really ripe and rich with a great concentration and purity of fruit. Again lime, honey and peach. The warm 2001 vintage giving the wine riper fruit, it is very approachable but still has tight acidity in the backbround keeping the wine fresh and long. It's a lovely generous Riesling that although delicious now shows great potential to develop it's honeyed minerality. Top wine.
