Gianni Voerzio 'Ciabot della Luna'
Barbera d'Alba, 2000
Not Specified
Italy, Piedmont 75cl
We are seeing some fantastic Barbera's in recent times fron what was previously considered Piedmont's 'ugly duckling'. This is another terrific example. Ripe bitter-sweet fruit on the nose, a touch of raisin and oak too. Medium bodied with ripe fruit, really juicy and quite vinbrant. Again some bitter sweet fruit. Good yet ripe typical Barbera acidity and soft ripe tannins. A touch of oak on the palate too adds complexity and adds to the soft finish. It's a lovely food style-was delicious with moussaka this evening! Another quality characterful wine. Price i believe around the £12 markand worth it!
