This hails from the Frescobaldi empire and goes to show that they can make more simple juicy styles of red wine as well as journalist pleasing blockbusters . Cavorting hordes of red fruit play accross the palate with trademark red cherry and bright plum fruit . Although not the most complex Chianti around there is still some backbone and tannin on the finish with enough to suggest some limited ageing ability .
Like most Italian wines; best with food but this is medium bodied and 12.5% alc. So don't blow it away with heavy cuisine . More power to the Frescobladi elbow if they can be bothered to make wines this tasty at this end of the scale also . c£5.99
