Pauletts Stone Cutting
Chardonnay (Unwooded), 2002
Not Specified
Australia/Clare Valley 75cl
Stelvin closure used. A pleasant nose of stone fruit with hints of peach and nougat. The palate is fine if a little simple, with good weight of fruit - slightly tropical, notes of white flesh stone fruit and a little spice. All round fine but as with so many unoaked Chardonnay's it doesn't quite seem to have much direction. Apparently a great food wine, but I fail (perhaps my own shortfall) to see exactly how it would stand up to any dish with genuine flavour. Perhaps good with skinless chicken breast??
