Have been a big fan of Ashanti wines since we took their range on about 2 years ago . Seems to be a company not afraid of making South African wine rather trying to ape the French . This is no exception to my earlier thoughts , fully ripe rich cassis fruit , cedar and chamois leather . The palate is backed up by firm tannin and bags of black fruit . A simply outstanding drink , great now and given the firm tannin , no probs. to go another 5 years . price ..hazard a guess of £10-13 and worth ever penny bring on the malbec , pinotage and chardonnay new releases
