This has become one of the jewels in Shaw and Smith's crown. Coming from 2 warmer vineyard sites in the cooler climate Adelaide Hills, and for sure one of the most convincing Shiraz from that region. The new 2004 is delicious. I would be amazed however if a small amonut of Viognier is not now in the blend however both back label and website make no mention so i could of course be talking nonsense! Perfumed nose with lifted berry and almost apricot fruit with pepper, spice and some oak too. It's full with the same perfumed fruit on the palate. Sweet, sexy and really juicy. The tannins are ripe, the palate full of lifted red berry ,and tannins ripe. it's not really evolved at all yet, but nevertheless has beautiful fruit and will age well over the next 2-7 years.
