Morgon Le Cru Aux Roches Pourries
, 2010
France Beaujolais
Cote de Py 75cl
'Roche Pourrie' refers to the crumbled, flaky rock rich in iron oxide and manganese which imparts a red ochre colour to the soil of the prized vineyard of Côte du Py. From 55 year old Gamay grapes that are harvested by hand from the best vineyard in the cru (Allegedly)
Plenty of bright juicy plum and sharp cherry fruit and a touch of rosehip on the palate.
The fruit is bright and crunch and and served cool on a warm evening this was pretty enjoyable
