Shobbrook Wines 'Tommy Ruff'
Shiraz-Mourvedre, 2009
Australia Red
Barossa Valley 75cl
This is a natural wiine, wild yeast fermented and unfined, made by one of the pioneers of this movement in Australia Tom Shobbrook. Tommy Ruff is a type of fish i believe used for bait when fishing!
Bright plum and black cherry on the nose. A touch of herb and spice too. It's a bright, full-throttle juicy style with really sweet dense fruit, black cherry and spice with good acidity. It has a touch of rasin to it too, but the overriding character is big ripe juicy berry fruit- a really good burger wine! Really pure and tasty, i think it's a wine for drinking young, though may age well too?? Big wine.
