Quinta do Crasto Douro 'Superior'

The wine from Quinta do Crasto just get better, this is the second release of the Superior. The dominant grape is Touriga Nacional but also in the blend Touriga Franca, Tinto Roriz and Souzao. Aged in French barriques for 12 months. Deep in colour, lovely bright black cherry and plum with spice and oak. Full and rich on the palate already fairly soft and voluptuous, chocolate, black cherry, plum, spice a hint of liquorice and toasty oak. Has really lovely fruit and a dense almost savoury core with good acidity, young of course and sure to age over the next 5 years.
