Another wine from the excellent Tasca d'Almerita winery. A blend of Nero d'Avola and Merlot aged 14 months in French oak. Bright berry fruits and toasty oak on the nose, medium to full bodied with dense berry fruits, meat, dried herbs and a touch of liquorice and oak. Dense on the palate with black fruits, some cherry, spice and oak, good depth with ripe tannins. Works best with food, but not forboding without, another excellent wine from this winery which is on top form.
