Dog Point
Sauvignon Blanc, 2011
New Zealand White
Marlborough 75cl
We've followed Dog Point right from their beginning and this is an estate of considerable quality and consistency. Their releases are, refreshingly, not at the start of the Sauvignon Season in October, they tend to come across when they want them too.
Piercing notes of grapefruit and blackcurrant frame the wine with nettles and citrus zest in the background. The palate is explosive and tangy, again grapefruit dominant (no bad thing). Added depth and minerality sign this beauty off as a very impressive and noteworthy Sauvignon Blanc.
