The Spies is all grown on granite. This gives the wine much more body and spice. With the late harvest of mid November this has maybe given the Spies a touch more citrus than usual. Aged in stainless steel, classic stone fruit, pepper and spice on the nose with hints of grapefruit. Ripe pear, citrus and even papaya on the palate, it's rich and weighty with gentle spice yet like all the 2010's has fabulous freshness and vibrancy, long and spicy and sure to age well.
