Gladstone Vineyard
Sauvignon Blanc, 2011
New Zealand White
Gladstone, Wairarapa 75cl
Quite a big full flavoured fairly round Sauvignon, it does make a change from the really zesty lime and tropical fruit Marlborough styles. Grassy and herbaceous with ripe melon, gooseberry and hints of stone fruits on the nose.
Full and quite broad on the palate, lots of extract, with ripe melon, gooseberry, peach and lemon, really quite herbaceous. Tangy but not especially zesty, this is a food friendly style. Touch of phenolic on the finish, minerally too. A good different style, just maybe carrying half a degree too much alcohol.
