Herencia Altés
Garnatxa Negra, 2010
Spain Red
Terra Alta 75cl
A new DO to me this is in Cataluna, North East Spain and is South West of Barcelona, a pretty high altitude region, in fact the highest in Cataluna. This is also a new winery to me, It's Garnacha which is Grenache, tastes unoaked. Bright red berry and cherry on the nose. It's a fresh bright crunchy style with lovely rasberry, redcurrant and cherry with hints of plum with spice and pepper. Really very tasty, it's not hugely complex but has really lovely pure fruit and worked well with a medium spiced beed curry. Tannins are ripe making this a versatile food wine.
