Quirky packaging and mission statement/ marketing with these chaps but I quite like the idea.
A classic not quite 100% Sauvignon Blend with a little bit of barrique fermented Semillon adding richness and complexity. It's quite tightly wound and needs swirling and warming to show off its best at the moment (It's a fairly grown up style and relatively youthful) but tropical fruits begin to appear on the nose along with typical green herbs. Very minerally on the palate to start with and then some nice mid palate fatness shows up and grows to provide surprising texture and richness for Sauvignon with stone fruit to the fore. Probably not for those looking for a 'NZ Savvy style' but really interesting and I think it would be extremely food friendly
