The Rude Mechanicals are intriguing wines, made from established vineyards, exclusively for their UK importer. This is made by Susanna Fernandez from the Cascabel winery. A rustic blend of 50% Grenache and 50% Carignan. White pepper and cherry fruit with dried herbs and lots of pepper and spice on the nose. Quite a juicy style, it's full of fruit, berry and plum with a dried herb savouriness. Deep and crunchy with a touch of mint on the palate, it's a youthful style and would be great with mediterranean food, think pork and bean casserole, bring out some chorizo even! Not obviously Australian in style and really pretty good.
