A Top 100 IGP 2011 wine. I love Carignan, it may not make fine wine but it can, when made from old vines such as this, produce really delicious wines. A wine made from 100+ year old Carignan. Dense nose with black cherry and plum, some rusticity and savoury notes too. On the palate it's all about dense plum and black cherry fruit, really fresh and crunchy with a wealth of fruit, spice and ripe tannins too. It is a touch rustic but the fruit wins the day and this is a characterful drop, and great autumnal/winter drinking.
