This is a more premium Rioja from Lar de Paula, coming from old vine Tempranillo. These vines are in the Alavesa region and are at 650m above sea level. Deep in colour, it's a dense rich Rioja, just starting to develop. It's got rich berry fruit with meat and toasty oak. Good weight and tannins that are beginning to soften. The fruit and oak are in harmony and there is plenty of savoury meaty flavours, it's long and spicy with lovely berry fruits and oak on the finish. I would opt to drink this over the next 5 years, another impressive wine.
